Our Story

The Future of Skincare

It all started 24 years ago when a family member introduced me to the world of aromatics. Intrigued, I went on to complete a 4-year course in Holistic therapies to obtain six diplomas in the field. During my studies I was amazed by the human body, anatomy and physiology and in particular, the organ we all take for granted, our skin.

Later I went to live in Egypt, the land of the pharaohs where I felt particularly drawn to. Being there among the ancient ruins I witnessed the lifestyle of the local Bedouin people first hand. Ancient Egyptians have been using plant-based, natural ingredients for thousands of years, one example is the embalming of the deceased using oils, resins and salts. This
confirmed my thoughts on using natural and organic ingredients and ‘going back to your Roots’. It all made sense, everything we need is already here on Earth, for sickness, pleasure, food and for the largest organ of the body – the skin, we just need to find it.

Roots Vegan Skincare was born.

As well as practicing different massage techniques and holistic therapies in spas around the world, for years I have been formulating plant-based, eco conscious cosmetics for the skin, body and hair, well before the ‘vegan and sustainable umbrella’ hit the mainstream. With 20+ years’ experience in skincare ingredients, I have formulated and tested thousands of skincare blends and have designed what I believe to be the ultimate formulas anyone should ever need. These blends all adhere to UK and European standards and have been tested by leading UK toxicology laboratories who have performed testing for well-known brands across the globe. Our portfolio of skincare keeps on growing as we invest our time, expertise and effort into creating the most advanced sustainable skincare for you, your family and even your pets. Roots Vegan Skincare was born as a small enterprise, a woman-owned business with a belief in sustainability for a brighter tomorrow for you and our planet.
